Horry county: it’s time to vote and it’s time to vote for ride iv which will be on your ballot as a referendum as well. it is not a new program. the conservation groups are out in force to try to get you to drink their koolaid and not vote for ride IV . remember: they’ve never built any road to my knowledge and it’s their job to fight against the safety and progress of people. lots of money flows to their organizations and if ride iv doesn’t pass…maybe it’s time to go after them legally in defense of the safety of our people, and maybe they need to be sued for a change.
Early voting locations are open from October 21 to November 2, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. (closed on Sunday, October 27, 2024).
Voters must bring a valid photo ID to vote and You can view your sample ballot online at scvotes.gov.

July 2024 Update: How do you feel about a county council representative profiting while he’s supposed to be serving you while in office?
Well, Horry county councilman allen is making sure he takes care of himself before he takes care of you.
The Horry COUNTY FINANCE DEPARTMENT RECORDS reflect Allen aviatioN, Inc. has been raking…and we are talking…raking in the county tax dollars for years while coucilman allen has been serving in office to a tune of at lease $1.7 million the last time I calculated checks issued, and I’m pretty certain that amount is higher.
then…To add more dirt to the faces of the taxpayers he made sure he took care of the airport in Conway, SC — the one he uses for his personal aviation company which is in his wife’s name.)
Nothing made sense for a long time, but things are certainly clear now, and all it took was one truly unethical move last year by the councilman and his fake myrtle beach, Sc news buddy (David Hucks) to shine the light on both of them. (I only knew a piece of David’s act in 2019, but oh my how he unveiled himself in more ways than one SINCE THEN.)
Councilman allen has a history of unprofessionalism in committee meetingS and council meetings. He has a History of taking potshots at the people “from the north” and those not born and raised in South Carolina. He has a long history of perpetuating division among our people of horry county, and a history of taking POTSHOTS at his fellow council representatives…all while dipping into the taxpayer dollars while in office to the tune of at least $1 Million the last time i checked the public horry county check register.
(11/2/2024 update) It’s not okay councilman! I’m sure you did not run your campaign saying “you don’t mind if i take care of me and my family financially first — do ya?” South carolina ethics commission may have said it’s okay in 2014, but the taxpayers say it’s in-your-face local government corruption and your profiting while in office creates conflicts of interests. it is simply unethical and your unethical move with your artifical myrtle Beach news buddy David Hucks with me last year (2023) exposed the unethical people you truly are. that put the icing on the ugly cake.
I’ve observed unprofessional behavior and comments by mr. allen and others who site on county council. i watched closely these last five years. the majority act respectful, but a few have made some bad decisions and said things that are inappropriate as an elected official.
Lack of transparency is a must and the voters of the county are not getting full transparency.
First of all: there are only 2 biographies on the county’s website and 10 county council bios are missing which reflects lack of transparency.
when I checked the required 2023 SC SEI reports for each council representative it was obvious that certain individuals lacked transparency and honesty as well.
Tom Anderson (He just says he’s in “construction”. what kind of construction is he in? Does he build legos or what? Where’s your business name sir? I also was stunned one day, when during an official county committee meeting he referred to our sitting governor as “uncle henry”. Unprofessional sir.
randall causey (he states he’s an “independent Contractor”) - what kind? where’s your business name?)
Mikey masciarelli (real estate - what kind? what company? that’s a pretty wide open answer.)
THE PEOPLE OF HORRY COUNTY DESERVE TOTAL TRANSPARENCY AND THEY DESERVE BETTER THAN WHAT THEY ARE GETTING. THIS DOES NOT MAKE ME HAPPY, BUT NOTHING CHANGES WHEN WE STAY SILENT AND LET WRONG GO WRONG. TOLLERANCE OF NON-TRANSPARENCY AND UNPROFESSIONAL AND UNETHICAL BEHAVIOR IS FAILURE.
HORRY COUNTY DESERVES THE BEST AND THAT MEANS PROFESSIONAL BEHAVIOR BY EVERY MEMBER OF COUNCIL.
IF HORRY COUNTY COUNCIL EVER WANTS TO BE RESPECTED - THERE’S GOING TO HAVE TO BE CHANGE.

Well…you better do your horry county candidate research on the names and their history.
Until someone who has the power removes elected officials who are profiting off Horry County taxpayer dollars while in office (such as Al Allen) — nothing will change. Who gave him that right? did they give the unethical right to councilman allen? Wrong is wrong horry county!
elected officials sucking up the tax dollars while serving in office is, in my opinion, the epitome of in-your-face local government corruption.
how many others on horry county council are doing the same?
Horry County became the problem for I-73 in 2019 as Horry County Council , rather than keeping the I-73 contract ACTIVE with the SCDOT, decided to stay engaged in a lawsuit with some of the municipalities (other elected officials they should have been working with). that lawsuit cost the taxpayers millions the last time I checked. who exactly benefitted from that and did it occur because the municipalities saw impropriety?
Well, Conduct unbecoming of an elected official, unethical acts, conflicts of interest, and abuse of power are just a few things I’ve seen since I came out in the public eye as a Citizen Advocate for I-73 in 2019.
Horry County Council doesn’t even have biographies for all the council members on their website, and it appears they flip a coin to see which public meetings go out on Facebook. Your elected representatives have a job to be transparent because they are spending your dollars.
Certain members of Horry county council, some individuals on county committees, fake news media, and others have fueled division in horry county, and perpetuated added fuel to hate, as they created a “hatfields and mccoys” attitude in horry county for decades.
When will the circus end that has made our people, the majority, AND RESIDENTS AND VISITORS pay the ultimate price time and time again?
division is wrong AND abuse of taxpayer dollars is wrong.
wE, THE TAXPAYERS, ARE WATCHING TO SEE WHO WILL GO THE DISTANCE FOR JUSTICE AND STOP THE REAL “STEAL”…THE LEGALIZING OF ELECTED OFFICIALS PROFITTING WHILE SERVING IN OFFICE.
SO…YOU WHO HAVE THE POWER TO DO SO: DO WHAT YOU HAVE TO DO AND PUT AN END TO THE INJUSTICE THAT HAS BECOME COMMONPLACE FOR DECADES IN HORRY COUNTY.
HOW CAN OUR COUNTY HAVE THE AUDACITY TO ASK FOR FEDERAL AND STATE DOLLARS BACK FOR ANYTHING WHEN CERTAIN FAMILIES OF COUNCIL MEMBERS ARE PROFITING WHILE THE COUNCIL MEMBER IS IN OFFICE?
Trust is earned. the majority does not attend county meetings. the majority does not trust our county government. it’s time that things change for the future of horry county.

SC9, SC90, and US501 do NOT equal an INTERSTATE, and it is time things change.
I-73 should go to construction now, and in the meantime, our leaders should be WORKING TOGETHER to make sure our most-traveled roads are kept in top-notch condition and enhanced wherever possible.
Get rid of the ones with blinders on. Then, maybe they’ll listen.
