I-73 SC Counties
Dillon
In the Spring of 2018, Dillon Inland Port was constructed, furthering economic growth based on the Port of Charleston. Some in Dillon are happy with that and think it’s enough, but the South Carolina Department of Commerce News indicates Dillon only attracted one, of over 200 new-industry projects announced in the last two-year period (Oct 1, 2019 - Sept 30, 2021). I-73 will give Dillon the ability to attract new industry as research shows the majority of new industry locate in close proximity to interstates, ports, and rails. I-73 will be another win-win project for Dillon County, South Carolina.
They are not on the coast, do not need the hurricane evacuation route like Myrtle Beach, in Horry County, South Carolina.

Horry
Horry County does not have an Interstate and Myrtle Beach is an hour to an hour and a half away from Interstate 95. Interstate 73, in South Carolina, will connect Myrtle Beach to the Interstate System and provide an efficient hurricane evacuation route, safe travel for residents and millions of visitors, as well as provide the opportunity to attract new industry which locate by interstates, have decent-pay and benefits, full-time, year-round jobs and large sums of investment dollars. Our college students/working people should not have to move away in order to get a job which isn’t in the tourism industry and they deserve employment opportunities they will never have without an interstate (I-73). The hard-working residents should not have to work multiple jobs to make a decent living. Interstate 73 will provide safe, efficient travel and hope for a better tomorrow.
Horry County has added more people in the past decade than anywhere in South Carolina. Yes, the I-73 permit was issued and it’s way…past time to build Interstate 73 in South Carolina!
